1994
early January -
(why January? while I can't quite make out the date - other than I think it's Tuesday - on the fax Tommy sends Alex about the body found in New York, one of the other headlines refers to the 'King Celebration.' I'm taking this to mean Martin Luther King, Jr. day, which is on Monday the 17th)
Dr.s Fuji Takamura and Alexandra Johnson discover the cave of the Sorcerer Nakano in Niri, Japan.
Alex and TakamuraMt. Niri
Kane and his two Immortal henchman escape when the cave is breached.
After beheading one of his own men, Kane sends the other, Khabul Kahn, out to track down Connor.
Kane
Back in Marrakech with John, Connor finds out about Kane's escape.

Connor tells his friend Jack Donovan to watch over John while Connor goes to New York to confront the killer of his mentor.
Connor and John

Back in New York, Connor is shot by gang members and taken to the hospital.
Recovering on the stretcher, Connor tries to get away but is sedated and taken to 'ward 7' - the psycho ward.
Connor in the hospital
While researching the artifacts found in the cave, Fuji discovers a piece of cloth Alex identifies as tartan.

January 17 - With the help of 'Napoleon', Connor escapes the ward just in time to confront and defeat Kane's henchman.
Connor whacks Kahn
The murder in the hospital is investigated by Lt. John Stenn, who remembers the beheadings in 1985 and believes it to be the work of Russell Nash. He confronts Connor as the Immortal gets back to his apartment, but of course has no evidence, so he contents himself with keeping an eye on the antique dealer. When Connor turns on his TV, he catches part of an interview with Alex and hears from her a voice out of his past - Sarah Barrington.
Meanwhile, Kane is in now in New York and also sees the interview.
Alex's friend/assistant Tommy faxes her a New York Post headline - "Headless Body Found!" (this is the paper with the King headline). Alex is off to New York that night.

January 20 - three days after the killing, the autopsy reveals the body to have none of the typical signs of aging - no cavities, broken bones or organ deterioration.
Alex is back at the New York Museum of Ancient History and tells Tommy she's tracked down a possible descendant of the MacLeod clan she identified by the tartan in the cave and that she now has this person's address. After Tommy leaves for the night, Kane visits Alex and sees a fax mentioning MacLeod's name.
Kane and Alex
After Kane leaves, Alex goes to the Hudson Street address and follows Connor to the Japanese Spiritual Center in Queens, where 'Nash' is sparring with his old buddy Charlie.
She confronts 'Nash' as he's leaving, asking if he knows who or where Connor MacLeod is.
During their conversation, Kane attacks.
Connor's sword is shattered in the attack, but because it's Holy Ground, Kane doesn't behead the Highlander. He does stab Connor before leaving, a move Alex sees.
Staggering away, Connor warns Alex to stay away from him.
Stenn has also followed 'Nash' to the Center, and arrives inside after the fight is over, finding only Alex. He takes her to a bar (around 5 AM) where he tells her about the case from '85 and Brenda's involvement with Nash and her later death. Alex feels sad for 'Nash'.

January 21 - The next night, Alex again goes to the Hudson Street address. This time, Connor lets her in. During her visit, she sees lots of evidence of Connors in the family down through the generations and overhears a phonecall from the airport confirming a flight to Scotland.

While Connor is back in Scotland, trying to center himself and forge a new blade in the ruins of his old home, Alex delves more deeply into her research.
Connor back in Scotland

Having found Connor's apartment, Kane checks the place out and hears a call from Connor's son, John. A plan forms...

Alex realizes a block of metal found in the cave is metal for a sword blade and goes to Scotland.
Alex giving Connor the metal
Connor throws himself into making a new blade and getting in shape for the fight to come while Alex watches, piecing together all she's seen and heard. She realizes this 'Nash' person is really Connor MacLeod. Not a relative, but the same one cast out from his village in 1536.
Connor and Alex

In Scotland, Connor gets a call from Jack, confused because as far as he knew, he'd made arrangements with Connor to send John to New York.
Connor and Alex hurry to catch a flight so they can meet John at the airport.
Connor sees Kane take John, but is arrested before he can catch up to them.
After the cops release him due to lack of evidence, Connor gets the phone message from Kane telling him where to meet - the old mission on Route 1, Jersey City.
Connor and Kane have their final battle in a factory behind the mission. Connor wins (of course).
Connor and Kane
The Quickening

After defeating Kane, Connor MacLeod still continues to guard against the Prize being won by an evil Immortal while trying to live as normal a life as possible with his new wife Alex, and his adopted son John...
