Ceirdwyn: Warrior Goddess

NEW!
FINALLY added some Ceirdwyn pages to the gallery!

Ceirdwyn ready to kick butt! Ceirdwyn ready to kick butt!

She is Immortal
Born in Eastern Celtic Britain
Over nineteen hundred years ago
And she is not alone
There are others like her
Some good, some evil, none as gorgeous
For centuries she has battled the forces of darkness
With Holy Ground her only refuge
She cannot die, period
Not if I have any say in the manner
In the end, there can be only one
She is Ceirdwyn, Warrior Goddess

The delightful, delovely Ceirdwyn

Born in 29AD, she is the coolest female Immortal.
As beautiful as she is deadly, she is one of the oldest Immortals still alive and kicking.
First killed in 60AD when her Iceni tribe was defeated by Roman soldiers, she was taken in and mentored by the Immortal Marcus Constantine.
Introduced in the "Take Back The Night" episode of "Highlander: The Series," we see Ceirdwyn with her mortal husband of twelve years, Steven Jarmel. Steven is shot and killed by badly dubbed French street punks in February of 1995, who also gun down the Warrior Goddess as she rushes to his aid.

This doesn't set well with her.

Donning her Celtic warpaint and black leather, Ceirdwyn sets out to hunt down and destroy the aforementioned punks.
She kills the one who pulled the trigger, and searches for the rest.
Fortunately for them, a certain holier-than-thou Immortal by the name of Duncan MacLeod runs into her first, and tries to convince the Goddess that revenge helps no one, much as she told him in 1745.

Ceirdwyn as Flora

It seems that when Bonnie Prince Charlie was fleeing Scotland after his defeat at Culledon, Duncan led him to a tavern run by Flora MacDonald.
In actuality, this was Ceirdwyn using an assumed name.
After seeing Charlie to freedom, Duncan went on a rampage of his own against the English, until Ceirdwyn managed to bring him back out of his blood lust.

Back in the present, Ceirdwyn has pretty much agreed to let the remainder of the gang live, but they have other plans. They break into her house intent on ending their pathetically dubbed lives. Luckily for them, again, Duncan MacLeod sticks his nose in and intercepts the gang in her house, convincing them that anywhere else might be a better place to be. She does manage to get hold of one of the punks, giving him a sight that may very well have set him on the path of righteousness from now on.

Of course, much like Christopher Lambert and Connor MacLeod, the character of Ceirdwyn wouldn't have been any more impressive than numerous other "guest Immortals of the week" without the stunning performance of Kim Johnston Ulrich.
In only one episode, she gave us an Immortal who's strength and skill is undeniable, and who's beauty and grace are unsurpassable.
If there was any justice in this world, she'd have made a return appearance on the show or better yet, have starred in the spin-off..
And if you're out there, Kim, this one's for you!

Thanks: My thanks first and foremost to Greg Widen, for creating such a neat world in which to play. And to Christopher Lambert, for bringing Connor MacLeod to life. Also, many thanks to Davis/Panzer themselves, for keeping the idea alive (I'll even forgive them for 2 and 3; the cartoon, I'm not too sure about) in the series. And of course, thanks to everyone else involved in both the films and the series. Last but not least, thanks to all the other fans, who've given D/P a reason to keep the immortal flame of "Highlander" alive. Don't mess up Highlander V!
